The Australian War Memorial is currently presenting the exhibition Sidney Nolan: the Gallipoli series. As a part of this exhibition we have produced an exhibition catalogue and supporting material including an invitation to the launch of the exhibition.
Due to the volume of artworks used in this publication it was decided that we needed a printer who offered high quality colour reproduction and had processes and procedures in place that ensured quality control. Union Offset Printers was chosen to complete the print work on these products.
The catalogue itself included four different covers with a foldout cover that made this job a complex project. The invitations offered a taste of the exhibition by providing four tear off postcards for the recipient to keep. These covers and postcards included four colour intense images from the collection.
From the start of the project Union Offset, in particular Merv Gardiner, kept us informed of each stage of the job’s development. The proofing was quite complex and the proofs that were returned to us were exceptional. The final catalogues were delivered on time and the response from the designer, curators and general public has been very positive.
The Nolan catalogues are a lovely representation of the physical exhibition and a product that the Memorial is extremely proud of. The colour reproduction and overall presentation of the work is superb and is a credit to the quality and high standards of Union Offset Printers.
